Custom Fitting Basics
For those who want to get the most from their game, they should seriously consider custom made golf clubs. We are not just talking about low handicapped golfers, but average and high handicapped golfers who have the most to gain as improvements can be immediately realized. As an example, imagine learning to walk while wearing shoes that are the wrong size. Your steps would be tentative and self-conscious and you would only learn to compensate for the inadaquecies of the shoe. Golf clubs are the same.
Every player on the PGA tour uses custom fit golf equipment. The clubs you buy off the shelf are not the same as the ones played each weekend by the best in the game. Don't you deserve this level of service?
What is involved in a custom golf club fitting session?
Well, it depends upon who you ask as there are a wide range options from honestly answering some important questions about your game to getting the royal treatment that a PGA Tour player receives. Remember, any custom fitting is be

tter than none at all! In a more advanced fitting a session, it will require hitting balls and observing the ball flight. It is best to do this outside, although with modern technology, advanced software can track ball flight pretty accurately. We will have you use several different club types to see what parameters best work for you. It is important to keep an open mind. We may suggest some rather unique combinations, but they will be based your actual performance results. For instance, a strong golfer may not automatically need a stiff, low lofted driver or find that hybrids aren't the answers to their long iron woes; rather additional high-lofted fairway woods might be more suitable. The purpose of custom made golf clubs are to optimize your clubs to your game.
Once we find the right combinations we will provide detailed specifications on all aspects of the clubs we have fit. The fitting will take 30 mintes to an hour for a single club type, or could require several different sessions for complete sets.
| Custom Golf Fitting Variable | Why it is Important |
| Club Length | Proper length allows for more consistent swing and impact on the club face, resulting in increased length and accuracy. |
| Club Head Type | Each club head is designed for a specific type of player. Wide soles are typically beneficial to high handicap players, while the more skilled player tends to prefer thinner lines which provide more shot control. |
| Loft & Lie | Often overlooked yet critically important, these factors influence ball trajectory almost as much as the clubhead path during the swing. |
| Shaft | There are many factors to consider in choosing proper shafts; torque, flex, weight, and bend point to name a few. Each player will benefit from a shaft selected to meet the needs of their game. |
| Grip Size | Most any teaching professional will start their work with a player with the grip. Without a proper grip size on the club the tendency will be to have a firmer grip, resulting in less shot control. |
In summary, club fitting is much more than simply measuring the distance from your wrist to the floor. True fitting involves personal observation of your individual characteristics, and fine tuning of each component.
