CUSTOM FITTING WILL CHANGE YOUR GAME!

When Amy, a teacher and mother of 2, decided to take up the game of golf she wasn’t sure where to start. Like most beginners she set off to the local golf store to get help in selecting her first set of clubs. After a few questions she purchased the recommended clubs and set-off to play.

Unknown to her she played the next 2 years with a set of clubs that didn’t suit her swing or her game. Off-the rack clubs are made to a manufacturing standard that does not account for individual characteristics. Many golfers, whether new to the game or seasoned players, buy their equipment based on what they are told or read.

Custom fitting takes the guess work out of knowing which equipment will work for you. Through a thorough analysis of your unique attributes and swing characteristics a custom clubfitter can help determine your equipment needs. This process, known as dynamic fitting, takes about an hour. The clubfitter will have you hit shots with clubs of different weights, and lengths and will evaluate what your optimum loft and lie angles should be.

No amount of lessons using ill-fitting clubs will help a golfer improve their game. Recent surveys show that nearly 60% of golfers have never been custom fit for equipment. Surveys also show that 48% of those who went through a dynamic fitting process improved their scores by 3 or more strokes during their next round.
Before you set out to buy your next club make an appointment with a certified clubfitter and learn what will work for you!

SHAFT SPINING: WHAT IS IT?

Chances are you have read about or heard someone discussing spining golf shafts. Ever wonder what this is really about?
While most manufacturers take care to produce shafts with consistency there are variations in the stiffness around a shaft’s circumference. If severe enough these inconsistencies can affect the bending qualities of the shaft if not aligned properly, and ultimately effect the reaction of your ball.

Spining is a process of identifying the most consistent bending position and then aligning that towards or away from the target line. This provides a player with more consistency in the equipment’s response. This condition is most prevelent in steel shafts, but some graphite shafts are affected as well.

Every shaft installed by CCO is weighed, spined, and inspected to ensure the maximum benefit for the player once installed.  This process is unique to custom club builders and does not happen on the assembly lines used by name brand manufactures. Don't just hop that your off-the-rack has been assembled with care, choose an accredited clubmaker to ensure this!  Your scorecard will be the proof you need.
